Tips for Creating a Newsletter for Your Small Business

Here’s how you can create a successful newsletter for your small business.

A company newsletter is a great way to reach out to your customers and keep them informed about the latest news and happenings around your business.  Interested in creating a newsletter for your small business, but not sure where to begin?  Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Use the Right Format for Your Business

Newsletters come in a variety of different formats, and certain formats will work far better for your business than others.  Before you do anything else, consider which format will best fit your company’s brand.  To help you decide, here are the pros and cons of the most popular newsletter formats:

  • Plain Text Email
    • Pro: Easy to format and does not require fancy software to create
    • Con: Limited to text only; cannot include graphics or creative formatting
  • HTML Email
    • Pro: Visually appealing and allows for greater creativity
    • Con: Size restrictions; can only be viewed when the reader is online
  • HTML Webpage
    • Pro: Limitless design potential; ample room for content and graphics; don’t have to send as an email attachment
    • Con: Takes time to design; can only be viewed while online
  • PDF
    • Pro: Limitless design potential; ample room for content and graphics; offers the ability to read offline
    • Con: Takes time to design; requires special application to create PDF content

Create Worthwhile Content

Many small business owners do not know what they should include in their newsletters.  Ultimately, your target audience will determine your content.  You should think about the information that will be useful to your audience and build your newsletter around these ideas.  Remember, your newsletter should provide value and should not include mindless or irrelevant copy.  Everything in your company’s newsletter should be purposeful.

Determine Frequency

Finally, it’s important to decide how often you will send out a company newsletter.  You do not want to send out a newsletter too frequently as this may overwhelm your readers and force you to rush through the creation process.  Additionally, sending out a newsletter too infrequently will fail to keep your readers well-informed about current news.  Determining your newsletter schedule may take some trial and error at the beginning, but once you decide on frequency, make sure that you adhere to your schedule and publish consistently.

Here are some of the tips that you should try when creating a newsletter for your small business.  Want to do something else for the sake of your business?  Then make sure you secure the right commercial insurance to protect against any risks that your company may face.  For assistance with your business insurance needs, contact the experts at Stromsoe Insurance Agency in Murrieta, California today.

Don’t Let These Mistakes Drive Up Your Auto Insurance Rates

Don’t make these costly car insurance mistakes.

As a car owner, securing and managing your auto insurance can be a difficult task.  To make matters worse, making mistakes with your coverage can result in higher rates and other costs.  If you do not want your car insurance to cost more than it has to, make sure you avoid these common coverage mistakes.

  • Committing Insurance Fraud During the Application Process

While telling a little white lie or concealing certain pieces of information from your insurer might not seem like a major deal, this actually constitutes insurance fraud.  If you get caught lying, then you may experience an increase in your auto insurance rates.  In some cases, your deception can actually result in an insurer denying you coverage.  If this should happen, then you would be flagged as high-risk, making it extremely difficult to find an insurer willing to cover you at an affordable rate.

  • Canceling Your Previous Coverage Too Early

If you want to switch from one insurer to another, it’s important that you do not cancel your existing policy too early.  This can create a coverage gap that can leave you vulnerable.  For instance, if you canceled your policy a couple of days before you new one started and you got into an accident during this gap, then you would be responsible for all the costs associated with the accident.  So, to ensure that significant costs do not come out of your pocket, make sure that you do not create dangerous coverage gaps.

These are two of the costly car insurance mistakes that you should avoid.  Do you have additional questions regarding your auto insurance?  If so, then contact the professionals at Stromsoe Insurance Agency in Murrieta, California.  Our dedicated team is eager to assist you with all your coverage needs today.

How Valentine’s Day is Celebrated in Different Countries

Learn about fun Valentine’s Day traditions from around the world.

While you might consider Valentine’s Day to be an American holiday, it is actually a global sensation.  In fact, many countries across the globe have their own fun and unique Valentine’s Day traditions and celebrations.  Here are some of the ways that other countries celebrate this holiday.

Denmark

Denmark has a fun Valentine’s Day tradition where men present women with a “gaekkebrev.”  Roughly translated as a “joking letter,” gaekkebrev normally consist of a funny or poem written on intricately cut paper.  These letters are anonymous.  If the woman can correctly guess who sent her the note, then she will earn herself an Easter egg later on in the year.

South Korea

Valentine’s Day is a big event for young couples in South Korea.  In fact, the event is broken down into a series of different, romantic days.  February 14th kicks off the festivities as women shower men with candies, flowers, and other tokens of their affection.  The tables turn on March 14th, more commonly known as “White Day.”  On this day, it’s the men’s turn to offer chocolates and flowers.  Normally, the men are supposed to up the ante by offering more expensive presents to their lovers as well.  For those not in a relationship, there is an event known as “Black Day.”  Held on April 14th, this is a day for singles to mourn their solitary status by eating jajangmyeon (black bean paste noodles).

South Africa

Like many other parts of the world, South Africa welcomes Valentine’s Day with festivals, flowers, and other tokens of love.  Another fun South African tradition involves women wearing their heart on their sleeves.  South African women pin the names of their love interest onto their sleeves.  This is often how South African men learn the names of their secret admirers.

How Your Home Insurance Will Protect You from Mold

Here’s what your home insurance will cover when it comes to mold damage.

As a homeowner, mold growth on your property is a serious problem.  Not only can mold result in damages to your home, but it can also create unsafe living conditions for your loved ones.  Fortunately, most homeowners insurance policies will offer some coverage to deal with mold remediation and damages.  Here’s what you need to know about your coverage.

  • Insurance Coverage for Mold

First things first, it’s important to remember that every home insurance policy is different.  To find out exactly what your policy covers, you need to review your policy and speak to your insurer.  That being said, most standard homeowners insurance policies will offer coverage for mold remediation and repair.

  • Coverage Exclusions

There are some caveats to this coverage.  To start, some policies will only offer coverage for mold damage if the mold is a result of a covered peril.  For instance, if your policy protects against broken pipes, then you would have coverage for the mold growth that results from a broken and leaky pipe.

It’s also important to note that your insurance will likely not offer coverage for the mold that develops as a result of your negligence.  Finally, your policy will not offer coverage for the mold that that was already in your home before you purchased your home insurance policy.

This is what your home insurance will cover when it comes to mold damage.  Do you have additional questions regarding the coverage included in your home insurance?  If so, then contact the experts at Stromsoe Insurance Agency in Murrieta, California.  Our dedicated team is eager to assist you with all your coverage needs today.
